I’m a full-blown, color-coded-calendar, always-early, backup-for-my-backup Type A personality. And honestly? That’s exactly what you want in a photographer.
When I show up to a session, I don’t just bring gear, I bring a rolling photo fortress. Every camera I shoot with has dual card slots (every image is written to two cards simultaneously) because redundancy is my love language. I also haul along a second camera body, extra lenses, backup lights, and batteries. If something fails, the show will seamlessly go on.
But wait, there’s more. I’m also prepped for the human stuff. Lint rollers? You bet. Baby wipes? Of course. Portable fans for hot temps? Packed. Whether it’s sweat, crumbs, or chaos, I have a fix in my kit.
Have I mentioned that I also create a game plan for each session!? I’ve reviewed your must-have shots, planned a series of poses, and mapped out a smooth flow to keep things moving. But I also know that real life doesn’t always follow a shot list, especially with toddlers and teens. So while I show up prepared, I also leave plenty of room to pivot with whatever comes our way.
And when the session’s over, your images are backed up not once, not twice, but four times; RAW files go to my hard drive, two external hard drives, and the cloud. I treat your memories like they’re irreplaceable.
Being Type A might make me a bit much in some settings (want to see my alphabetized spice rack!?), but when it comes to photography, it means your images are protected with obsessive care and a sprinkle of over-prepared magic.
